  Dr. Anthony Wong, MD, is a Mohs surgeon at Long Island Skin Cancer & Dermatologic Surgery, serving Smithtown, Patchogue, Commack, Stony Brook, Huntington, Bay Shore, Hauppauge, Central Islip, Deer Park, Coram and all surrounding areas. Dr. Anthony Wong, MD, MS was born in New York and raised on Long Island. He attended Wantagh High School where he excelled academically and participated in many extracurricular sports including soccer, track and basketball. He was subsequently accepted to the Ivy League school Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and was awarded the title of Cornell National Scholar. There, high above Cayuga’s water, he majored in Biology and graduated with honors.

After finishing his undergraduate education, he studied Human Nutrition at Columbia University, on the upper west side of Manhattan. He received his Masters degree in Human Nutrition and did extensive research on the effects of ultraviolet light on skin cells.

With the newfound interest in the field of dermatology, Dr. Anthony Wong attended the State University of New York Downstate School of Medicine where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and served as president of the elite Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He then completed his multi-disciplined transitional internship at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical center in Manhattan and returned to The State University of New York Downstate School of Medicine to complete his dermatology residency. He served as chief resident and is a fully board certified Dermatologist.

Dr. Wong continued to pursue his interest in a surgical subspecialty of Dermatology called Mohs Micrographic Surgery by completing a Procedural Dermatology Fellowship through The State University of New York Downstate School of Medicine. As a Mohs College approved Fellowship trained Mohs surgeon, he developed unique expertise in treating and removing skin cancers as well as repairing surgical sites. Functioning as the skin cancer surgeon, the pathologist and the reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Wong treats skin cancers with the highest cure rates and the best cosmetic results.

In addition to his fondness for treating patients, he serves as a consultant dermatologist to Estee Lauder and continually lectures and contributes to the field of Dermatology at major national dermatologic meetings. He has written numerous articles for publications.

Professional Society Memberships on the national level include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgery, the New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. On a local level he is a member of the Long Island Dermatological Society, the Suffolk County Dermatology Society, the Suffolk County Medical Society and the Medical Society of the State of New York.

In his free time, Dr. Anthony Wong likes to snowboard, raise Koi in his pond, cook, travel and spend time with his wife and two children.
